My name is Shannon Seal, and I am the Owner of Seal Swim School North Pinellas and Co-Owner of Seal Swim School West Pasco. I am so excited to share a little about me and I hope to have the opportunity to meet you some day soon.
First and foremost, I want you to know how much I love what I do. I have been teaching swimming in this community for over 35 years, and every single day I wake up with a clear sense of purpose. I truly believe I have one of the most gratifying and fulfilling careers imaginable.
Throughout my career, I have taught thousands of children how to swim, and I carry so many stories of how our swim lessons have literally saved lives. Being able to make a difference in people’s lives every day is an incredible privilege. I take great pride in the skills we pass on, the confidence we help build, and the joy of watching our students accomplish their goals! I genuinely feel that teaching swimming is a gift I am meant to share. My life’s purpose is not only to teach children how to swim, but also to train instructors to teach swimming well with care, skill, and integrity.
I was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area and have worked in this family business family since I was a tween! I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!), with a focus on Public Speaking and Media.
Fun fact: I previously worked in radio and absolutely loved it but I love Seal Swim School even more! I’ve always been an athlete, having swam competitively and played competitive soccer for many years. I also love to surf and have had the opportunity to surf in both Central and South America.
Traveling is one of my greatest passions, and one of my favorite trips so far was visiting London for the first time this past summer it was absolutely wonderful. In my spare time, my favorite thing to do is watch my kiddos play sports, which has given me a love for football and basketball as well.
I’m a proud momma who loves her family, and I feel incredibly blessed to work in a business that allows me to make my family a priority while doing what I love.
